Or lack thereof . . .
We always planned on changing our daughter's name to Allison. I even wrote a post about it at some point. But when we got the referral a couple weeks ago and saw our daughter's name, we both knew we wouldn't be changing it.
It's a beautiful name, and it fits her. And as a side note, it also starts with an "A".
But . . .
I'm not revealing name on the internet until I can reveal her picture too.
So you'll just have to wait in suspense. I know you'll all be holding your breath . . .

A good name is important! I'm glad you like her given name, that is really sweet! We kept our son's birth/given name (starts with Si) and his family name. We also added a Western name that has some similiarities (also starts with Si) to his given name. We have told him we did that so that he could choose for himself. Secretly, we hope he keeps using his Ethiopian name but it does sound a bit odd mixed with McKeating. We don't want him to have to tell people his story his entire life. But his Ethiopian name has an incredibly rich, beautiful meaning- it's a blessed name for sure. For his situation, I'm sure we did the right thing because he was 6.5 yrs when he became a member of our family. :) I'm excited for you guys!!!
