Thank y'all for the kind comments on the last blog post. Most days I'm okay. We're busy, and Andrew keeps us on our toes. And so time passes quickly. But there are days. Days when it makes me sad. Days when it makes me angry. Days when it makes me insanely frustrated.
I'm sad and angry and frustrated for Andrew. He wants a sister. And while I know that there are going to be sibling conflicts, I also know that Andrew will be an awesome big brother.
I'm sad and angry and frustrated because my daughter is sitting somewhere in an orphanage. And no matter how awesome that orphanage may or may not be, no matter how wonderful the caregivers are, it's still an orphanage. No child deserves to spend her days in an orphanage. Each child deserves a loving family. While that's far from reality, it doesn't change the fact that it is still truth.
But like I said most days, I'm more than okay. Still we covet and appreciate your prayers. I often say that all we can do is pray. But honestly if that's all we can do, then we have already done more than we could ever imagine.

The wait is definitely hard. We had eight months between trips for the adoption of our son and I spent many an hour crying in the shower or on the bathroom floor.
That said, I think the estimate you have now been given of 30-48 months for the referral of a healthy toddler girl is accurate if there are no major changes in the BG program. I think in 2011 an estimate of 30-40 months from registration to referral would have been a better projection for your parameters and sent you into the process with a more realistic timeline. It's always extra tough when things change as you go.
Hang in there! She's worth it.
Hi Courtney,
I was just looking at your adoption timeline and decided to try and find you on the MOJ list of dossiers registered through the end of 2011. I only saw two US dossiers that would match you in the approximate time frame of your process. The first one was submitted to MOJ on August 1, 2011 and registered on October 12, 2011 for a girl up to 3 yo. The second one was submitted to MOJ on September 19, 2011 and registered on November 1, 2011 for a girl up to 3 yo. I can give you the MOJ registration numbers if you are interested. You can also ask Vesta as they would know which one is yours.
Basically it looks like you are probably about 8 weeks less into your wait than you thought :(.
There is only one US dossier left on the list that was registered in August 2011 and that one was submitted in February 2011, so not yours.
Feel free to email me if you have questions: viviane 8 at yahoo dot com.
Oops, I just looked again at your timeline... I think your dossier is probably the one registered on November 1 unless your age parameter is only up to 2 years old in which case your registration date is even later.
Just wanted to stop by and thank you for the love and sweet words you left for my family, myself, and most especially our little Zoey. I appreciate the comments and support more than you know. Perhaps soon, maybe, I will start a blog strictly about Zoey. Nothing else really. Well maybe me from time to time. But no family pictures or info that will lend itself to nastiness. As Zoey, thankfully, has been spared the cruel comments. Stay tuned and God Bless.
